Bradman Museum invites everyone to “get back to Bradman” to help celebrate its 30th Birthday with with a bumper list of events on the 11th, 12th & 13th of October.

To celebrate Bradman Museum’s 30th birthday, all children will get to enjoy Kids Free Day on Friday 11 October, at Bradman Centre: all activities – inside and outside – are free for kids, and fully supervised so parents can relax and enjoy the museum or ‘take five’ enjoying the spring weather at iconic Bradman Oval. With free museum entry from 10am to 3pm for kids up to 17 years of age they can enjoy talks by the museum curator on fabulous and little-known facts about the game of cricket. There will be free modified games for kids on the oval between 10.30am to 12.30pm with coach Jock, ideal for all ages. Give the kids an experience they won’t forget and say Happy 30th Birthday to the Bradman Museum!

Settle in on Saturday 12th and make a day of it on the Oval with our “Celebration of Local Cricket”.

Step back in history and watch the Wingello team and Bowral Cricket Club battle it out from 1pm, as we reminisce about the iconic match in 1926 between these two teams and the meeting of arguably the best cricketers Australia has produced; Don Bradman and Bill O’Reilly.

Bradman and O’Reilly had a mutual respect for one another with Bradman remarking “my choice for the greatest of all bowlers falls on Bill O’Reilly…”

The O’reilly family will be attending and presenting the trophy to the winning side and the café will be open all day to keep you full and hydrated as you watch this great match!

Also, cricket comes alive on Saturday night from 7pm till late with our Museum After Dark Event.

Join us in the International Hall of the Museum for food, plonk and prizes!

This is a not to be missed event to experience the museum after dark and help us celebrate 30 years since our doors opened!

And on Sunday 13th October, sees 30 years since Don walked on the ground and the museum was officially opened!

Join us from 9.30am for the Super 8 Tournament with special guests that have helped us become the great Museum that we are today.

The Community Radio FM104 will be on the grounds to capture your memories at Bradman and there will be a special photography exhibition of the Bradman centre, so you can see how far we have come in 30 years!

The Bradman Museum was of officially opened by Sir Donald & Lady Bradman on October 14 1989. The oval is where he and Lady Bradman met and walked to school each day as children, and now the site their final resting place, and holds a special place for local children and hearts of the whole community.
