Bradman Museum to host Cricket Art Prize exhibition.
The Bradman Foundation has agreed to display the 2009 Cricket Art Prize exhibition at the Bradman Museum from mid-January 2010.
A Cricket Art Prize painting is a composition depicting life in and around of the game and sport of cricket in settings of backyard cricket, beach cricket, social-cricket or local club cricket.
After completing two weeks at the SCG, six weeks in Queensland and two weeks at the MCG, the Cricket Art Prize exhibition will be on display at the Bradman Museum for one month.
The Bradman Foundation in Bowral, owns and operates the Bradman Museum and manages Bradman Oval where a young Don Bradman first learned to play the game. A capital works programme to build The International Cricket Hall of Fame will commence later this year.
Bradman Museum Curator, David Wells said "We are very excited to be hosting the Cricket Art Prize exhibition as it will complement the existing museum centrepieces."
Rina Hore, Executive Director of the Bradman Foundation said "Art and cricket are a wonderful combination and this exhibition will stimulate the palate of all walks-of-life interested in art and cricket. We’d like to host the Cricket Art Prize exhibition at the Bradman Museum on a regular basis as it is a perfect fit with the International Cricket Hall of Fame objective of connecting cultures and generations."
The Cricket Art Prize offers AU$20,000 to the winning painting, $2000 to the Highly Commended and $1000 to the Peoples' Choice award with national exposure for the travelling exhibition.
