Tickets go on sale today for the upcoming season’s KFC T20 Big Bash League with the Sydney Sixers promising to make this year bigger and better than the last.

A range of new ticket offerings at the ground, combined with the desire to break the Sydney crowd record for a domestic match of 32,587 set in 1934, will mean this summer of cricket could be one of the biggest ever.

The Sixers finished BBL03 with an average crowd of almost 20,000 and the highest average viewers numbers of any sports team in Sydney with 967,774 tuning in to each match, sets the platform for the Club to take this summer’s Big Bash League to the next level.

One of the innovative new options this summer will see the Sixers convert a number of Open Air Suites into Platinum Seating where spectators can sit on a comfortable padded seat with access to premium food and drink, similar to the Members stands and their much talked about new menu. With little to no queuing and bar tab facilities, Platinum Seating offers a hospitality type experience without the price tag.

In addition to this, radio partner NOVA 96.9 have partnered with the Sixers to host the NOVA 96.9 Sixers Suite. With DJ’s, giveaways and a #smashemsixers photo booth, the Sixers Suite will be the hottest ticket in town to catch the entertainment and socialise with a group of friends this summer.

“We’ve worked hard on our ticket offering this year to make sure we have a great range of options to suit everyone,” said Dom Remond, Sydney Sixers General Manager.

“We wanted to maximize the areas available to us within the ground. We know hospitality isn’t a big seller over the Christmas and New Year period when businesses are on leave so we’ve developed these areas to better cater for our spectators.

“Our match day experience is the reason we are here so it’s about providing as much entertainment as possible, and making sure we offer a ticketing solution for everyone who wants to join us at a Sixers match.”

The Sydney Sixers play their first game at the SCG on Friday 19 December against the Melbourne Renegades with the Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers all set to visit Sydney’s best cricket ground over the summer.
