The KFC T20 Big Bash League schedule for the coming summer has today been released with the Sydney Sixers kicking off their campaign on Saturday 21 December at the SCG against cross-town rivals the Sydney Thunder.
BBL03 will launch into stadiums and living rooms across the country in a revitalized draw that will see the tournament run predominantly post Christmas and throughout January at a time where families and teens can attend more matches.
With the local Derby opening the Sixers season on 21 December, the following home games with see the Melbourne Stars at the SCG on Sunday 29 December, the Perth Scorchers on Friday 10 January and the Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday 15 January.
The Sixers will travel to Brisbane to take on the Heat at the Gabba on Thursday 2 January, Adelaide to take on the Strikers on Sunday 5 January and Melbourne to take on the Renegades at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 18 January. The return local derby against the Sydney Thunder will be played at ANZ Stadium on Saturday 25 January.
Semi finals will be played on Friday 7 February and Saturday 8 February while the Big Bash final will be played on Saturday 15 February.
Coinciding with the announcement is the unveiling of the BBL03 Membership program with Sixers Members set to get a VIP Backstage Pass to Sydney’s hottest party this summer at the SCG.
Members Only benefits include not just tickets to matches, but also access to players during Members only training sessions and events, money can’t buy experiences including change room tours and fan zone seating as well as merchandise discounts and access to NSW Blues Sheffield Shield and Ryobi Cup matches.
Members will also get a first hand look at the England team to contest the Australian leg of the Ashes when they take on the NSW Blues in November.
