Sri Lankan all rounder Sachithra Senanayake will join the Sydney Sixers for the two remaining home and away matches, replacing Sunil Narine.

Senanayake will join the Sixers tomorrow ahead of the match against the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on Monday before making his first appearance at the SCG in the Sixers final home game of the year against the Melbourne Renegades on Wednesday, 9 January.

The 27-year-old, replacing Narine who departed for the West Indies to compete in the domestic T20 competition for Trinidad and Tobago, is a handy right-hand bat and right-arm off spinner and will be a worthwhile addition for the remainder of BBL|02.

After making his debut for Sri Lanka in January 2012 against South Africa in an ODI, he received a call up to the Sri Lankan T20 squad in June 2012.

Senanayake also plays for Uva Next in the Sri Lankan Premier League.

The Sixers will travel to Brisbane on Sunday ahead of the clash against the Heat before returning to the SCG on Wednesday, 9 January against the Melbourne Renegades.

The last home match will also serve as a fundraiser for the Sixers charity partner the Sony Foundation, with black sweat bands on sale and proceeds going to the Foundation’s You Can program, building care facilities for young adults being treated for cancer.

Tickets for the match are available a Ticketek.

Sydney Sixers BBL|02 squad are: Luke Feldman, Brad Haddin, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Josh Lalor, Brett Lee, Michael Lumb, Nic Maddinson, Ian Moran, Stephen O’Keefe, Kurtis Patterson, Sachithra Senanayake, Steve Smith, Daniel Smith, Mitchell Starc, Dominic Thornely, David Warner
