Australian Test players Steve Smith and Nathan Lyon will return to the NSW Blues line-up for their crucial Bupa Sheffield Shield match versus Western Australia at Manuka Oval, Canberra starting on Tuesday (11 March).
Both players returned to Sydney last Friday after the successful series victory in South Africa and will add strength to a powerful Blues line up for this vital game. They will replace Scott Henry and Manjot Singh.
The match is crucial, with places in the Final dependent on the results of this final set of matches. Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales all sit on 26 points, while Queensland are on 22. A first innings win or outright victory could see the Blues host the Final dependent on other results.
South Australia play Tasmania in Hobart, while Queensland take on Victoria in Melbourne.
Stephen O’Keefe’s eleven wicket haul in Adelaide makes him the highest wicket-taker in Shield cricket this year with 38 scalps at an average of 20.05, while Ryan Carters sits joint third on the list of run-scorers with 760 runs for the season.
