The Sydney Sixers season kicked off in emphatic style with an arrival in a pink Hummer at the official launch party of the KFC T20 Big Bash League in Sydney last night.

Members of the Sixers squad including captain Brad Haddin, Brett Lee, Pat Cummins, Stephen O’Keefe, Mitchell Starc, Steven Smith and General Manager Stuart Clark, arrived in style in the Hummer, alongside cheer-girls and to the sound of Lady Gaga.

During the course of the night the Sixers named Brad Haddin as the captain of the side, and the team’s magenta uniform was on display for the first time.

Sixers General Manager Stuart Clark was delighted with the launch of the competition: ‘It was great to see the competition finally get launched. Our guys wanted to enter the event in style and I think that we achieved that through the pink Hummer! It was good for the squad to be able to get together and there is a real excitement amongst the group about what lies ahead’.
