Former Australian opening batsman Phil Jaques will captain the New South Wales Futures League side in their four-day fixture against Queensland at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, starting on Monday (26 September).

Jaques will lead a team that has a number of players who were part of the 2nd X1 side defeated by Western Australia in Perth this week. RTA SpeedBlitz Blues keeper Peter Nevill, will provide the experience behind the stumps, alongside contracted rookies Sean Abbott, Nicholas Bills, Nathan Brain and Adam Zampa. Zampa takes the place of Beau Casson who picked up a quad injury in Perth.

Some interesting additions to the squad are Nick Larkin and Andrew McLean. Larkin, a right-hand top order bat from Sydney University, makes his debut at this level, while McLean, who spent some time in Perth last season, is a right-arm opening bowler who is a renowned swinger of the ball.
