Peter Nevill to captain NSW SpeedBlitz Blues in Ryobi Cup

Selection for Australia has caused changes in the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues team to take on Tasmania in the Ryobi Cup on Monday (February 11) at Blundstone Arena, Hobart.

With Brad Haddin, Josh Hazlewood and Ben Rohrer all in the Australian T20 squad for the match against the West Indies at the Gabba next Wednesday, changes have been made to the side currently competing against the same opponents in the Bupa Sheffield Shield.

Out of the team go Rohrer, Hazlewood and Chris Tremain, to be replaced by Daniel Hughes, Gurinder Sandhu and Luke Doran.

Left-handed opener Hughes will be on List A debut, although he did play four matches for the Sydney Sixers in this year’s Big Bash League. It will be Doran’s third Ryobi Cup appearance, and Sandhu’s second, after he took 3-64 against the Western Warriors in the previous Ryobi match at the SCG.

Tim Cruickshank, who is playing in the current Shield match, also plays his first Ryobi match since December, 2011.

With Stephen O’Keefe injured, and Ben Rohrer unavailable, Peter Nevill has been named as captain.

The squad is :
Peter Nevill (Captain)
Sean Abbott
Trent Copeland
Doug Bollinger
Tim Cruickshank
David Dawson
Luke Doran
Scott Henry
Daniel Hughes
Nic Maddinson
Gurinder Sandhu
Adam Zampa
