The Cricket NSW selectors have announced the U19 squad that will represent the State in the National Championships in Adelaide from 11th-20th January 2012.

The squad has a balanced look about it with many of the players currently performing well in First Grade or Regional cricket. It will be led by Penrith all-rounder Josh Clarke who will be taking part in his third U19 Championship, and will offer the squad an experienced leader.

Vice-captain Kurtis Patterson will lead the batting. Patterson, who is currently the second highest run-scorer in First Grade in Sydney, having scored back-to-back centuries, has already represented the Australian U19 side twice, the most recent occasion being a tour of India in September.

Opening bowler Taylor Scott, left-arm paceman Brad Chard, and leg-spinner Shane Cassel have all also represented the Australian U19’s.

Pace bowler Gurinder Sandhu, is another player to have reached representative honors, having played for the New South Wales 2nd X1 last year.
