Encased within a distinctive, contemporary and flexible building specifically designed to merge with the surrounding parklands and residences, the preliminary exhibition content feature exhibits showcasing the game of cricket as played around the world from the period of Word Series Cricket onwards.
The ICHOF builds on the world-wide respect for Sir Donald Bradman as the greatest batsman and the existing museum that bears his name. Located at the site where Sir Donald lived as a child and learned to play the game, the Australian Federal Government provided funding in 2008, the centenary year of Sir Donald’s birth, through the Department of Health and Ageing.
The Bradman Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable trust established in 1987 with the support of Sir Donald Bradman AC to promote cricket as a cultural and sporting force both nationally and internationally.

The Bradman Foundation manages and operates the Bradman Museum, Bradman Pavilion and Bradman Oval, located within Glebe Park, Bowral.
The Bradman Museum’s current permanent exhibitions showcase many objects gifted by Sir Donald as well as the history of cricket from its 14th century origins to the creation of the modern 50-over game and World Series Cricket.
Since opening, over one million people have visited the site which has resulted in a significant boost to local tourism and the economy. However, recent visitation to the Museum has declined from a peak of 60,000 visitors to 20,000 visitors per annum. Further declines would have resulted in the un-sustainability of the museum.
In 2008 to officially acknowledge the centenary of Sir Donald Bradman’s birth, the Australian Federal Government provided a $6.5 million grant to the Bradman Foundation to establish The International Cricket Hall of Fame (ICHOF) at the Bradman Museum.
The project aims to ensure the Museum remains culturally significant to audiences of all ages and backgrounds while remaining economically sustainable in the future. It is envisaged this project will increase visitation to the Museum by establishing new exhibitions using state-of-the-art interpretive media.
Designed in a contemporary architectural manner, the plans provide functional flexibility and a scale and appearance appropriate for a new culturally significant public building within a residential precinct.
“It is a major milestone in the history of the Highlands that the Bradman Oval at Bowral should become home to the world’s only International Cricket Hall of Fame. The Bradman Oval has always been viewed as the spiritual home of cricket as it is the scene of Don Bradman’s early triumphs but now that home will be enlarged and enhanced by a splendid new building which will house The International Hall of Fame, an interactive museum, which will be dedicated to the international sport of cricket and it will focus on the greats of the game from all over the world.
We believe that The International Cricket Hall of Fame is a community asset, one which will bring more tourists to our area and one which will make us all proud. We are grateful to the Wingecarribee Council with whom we have worked in partnership to deliver this important new addition to our area” - Michael Ball AM, Chairman of the Bradman Foundation
