Manjot Singh to replace O’Keefe for Shield trip to Perth

26 year-old right-arm off spinner Manjot Singh will replace Stephen O’Keefe for the NSW Blues upcoming Bupa Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia starting at the WACA on Thursday (20th).

O’Keefe, who is the joint highest Shield wicket-taker in the country along with the Warriors’ Michael Hogan with 27 scalps, will be sorely missed. Having played in the previous victory over the Bushrangers, he felt some discomfort in his shoulder afterwards and it has been decided to rest him and allow the injury further time to heal, with a view towards him returning at a later date this season.

Singh, made his First Class debut against South Australia at the SCG earlier this season and has been performing well for the Sydney Cricket Club in Grade cricket.

Victory over the Bushrangers last week has put the NSW Blues on top of the Shield table, level on points with South Australia, but with a better quotient.

The squad is :
Peter Nevill ( Captain )
Sean Abbott
Doug Bollinger
Ryan Carters
Trent Copeland
Josh Hazlewood
Scott Henry
Nic Maddinson
Kurtis Patterson
Ben Rohrer
Gurinder Sandhu
Manjot Singh
