Champions League 2012 Golden Bat winner Michael Lumb will return to Sydney to link up with the Sixers again for BBL|02.

Lumb, who was a member of the successful BBL|01 and Champions League 2012 squads, will once again pull on the magenta from game four until the end of the tournament.

After a man of the match performance in the CLT20 final, Lumb will be looking to back up that form for the Sixers and rejoining his mates after enjoying his first stint in Sydney.

Sixers General Manager Stuart Clark welcomed the return of the fan favourite.

“Lumby was a solid addition to our squad for BBL|01 and his form was outstanding in the Champions League, joining with Brad Haddin to win the final at Wanderers,” Clark said.

“He really enjoyed being in Sydney, the lifestyle and being near the beach for a surf last summer so we can’t wait to see him back here again.”

Lumb will replace Umar Akmal who is only available for games one to three.

The Sixers will take on archrivals the Sydney Thunder in the season opener on 8 December with the SCG likely to put up the full house sign with tickets selling quickly.

A week later on 16 December they will back up against the Perth Scorchers at the SCG with the final two home games falling on Boxing Day against the Hobart Hurricanes and 9 January against the Melbourne Renegades.

Sydney Sixers BBL|02 squad are: Umar Akmal, Brad Haddin, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Josh Lalor, Brett Lee, Michael Lumb, Nic Maddinson, Ian Moran, Sunil Narine, Stephen O’Keefe, Kurtis Patterson, Steve Smith, Daniel Smith, Mitchell Starc, Dominic Thornely, David Warner.
