Today’s Women’s T20 match between the Lend Lease Breakers and Victoria has ended in a draw after heavy rain hit Blacktown International Sportspark.
Morning showers meant a late start to the match with the game reduced to 18 overs per side.
Winning the toss, Lend Lease Breakers captain Rachael Haynes elected to bowl first with Victoria making 3-111 off 14.3 overs before a second heavy shower brought an abrupt end to the match.
Meg Lanning (55 off 43) top scored for Victoria with Rachael Haynes and Sharon Millanta the wicket takers for NSW.
Despite today’s no result, it has been another successful weekend for the Lend Lease Breakers who won Friday’s WT20 match by seven wickets before recording a 66 run bonus point win in their Women’s National Cricket League 50 over match on Saturday.
They are yet to drop a match this season and now sit in equal first on the WNCL ladder alongside Victoria, who have played one extra game. NSW remains in third position on the WT20 ladder, one point behind Queensland and two points behind Victoria.
The Lend Lease Breakers next round of matches is against the ACT Meteors at Wagga Wagga’s Robertson Oval (November 22-24).
