Mike Butcher and the Southern Highlands Concert Band present their fourth Playhouse concert series following the outstanding success of the first three in 2010 and 2011.
Once again, Mike has prepared a wonderful programme of concert band pieces including a medley from ‘West Side Story’, Sammy Nestico’s ‘Salute to American Jazz’, Julius Fučik’s ‘Florentiner March’ (featured in the film ‘Brassed Off’), Nowak’s ‘Sinatra in Concert’.
The programme also includes a movement from Mozart’s ‘Concerto for Clarinet’, an original Mike Butcher composition entitled ‘Liquorice Allsorts’, and features much-loved local mezzo soprano Sarah Turkic, and an exciting new vocal group known as The Andrew Brothers.
