Mark Cosgrove has joined the Sydney Sixers for BBL|03, firming up the batting stocks and making the switch from lime green to magenta.
Known for his power batting and rolling the odd arm over, Cosgrove fills one of the remaining two local spots in the Sixers roster which boasts some of the best names in domestic cricket including Steve Smith, Moises Henriques and Nic Maddinson.
Coach Trevor Bayliss said Cosgrove’s batting prowess was what made him a valuable signing for the Sixers.
“He is a gifted fast scoring batsman capable of scoring all around the ground,” said Bayliss.
“He’ll be a great asset to our team in this format.”
‘Cozzie’, who played for cross-town rivals the Sydney Thunder in BBL02, takes the Sixers to an almost complete roster with less than seven weeks to go until the start of the season.
Activity is ramping up for the Sixers with a range of community activities occurring over the next month including the annual Fan Day, held at Sixers party central, the SCG, on Sunday 17 November.
Tickets for the Big Bash will also go on sale on Monday 11 November.
