Closure of Macquarie Pass

07/03/12 Category: Blog Posted by:

Visitors traveling to and from Wollongong and the South Coast are advised that Macquarie Pass will be closed during daylight hours for several days as maintenance work and repairs are carried out:

Monday March 12 to Friday March 16

The pass will be closed each day from 9am and 3pm as Roads and Maritime Services trims vegetation, removes trees, repairs sections of road shoulder and extends guard rails.

Vegetation and some small protruding rocks will also be removed and low overhanging branches pruned from various locations from the bottom of the pass to the first hairpin.

Residents will be able to access their properties on the pass, but should expect lengthy delays.

Motorists should use Picton Rd, Sheepwash Rd, Moss Vale Rd or Cambewarra Rd as alternative routes, and light vehicles can also use Jamberoo Valley Mountain Rd.
