Chairman’s XI vs President’s XI: 27 April 2013

The annual Chairman’s XI vs President’s XI match marks the final match of an excellent cricket season. The beautiful Southern Highlands put on a magic day.

Maurice Newman, chairman of the Bradman Foundation, tossed the coin on a glorious Southern Highlands morning. Captain of the President’s XI, Peter Cox made the call but Mark Preddey won the toss and chose to take his team, Chairman’s XI, to bat first.

After 40 overs the Chairman’s XI had 220 on the scoreboard. The teams broke for lunch in the Main Hall of the Bradman Museum.

Rina Hore acknowledged the players and guests and summarised the 2012/13 achievements of the Bradman Foundation. Heydon Kerr was honoured with a special award and Keith Wyatt was thanked for his 25 years of service.

As the previous captain of the President’s XI and member of  two touring to England, Owen Zupp said a few words regarding the upcoming tour. Although jealous of this years team, Owen wished them well. Rina handed out gold ties to the team.
