Brad Haddin returns to captain NSW Blues

Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin returns to domestic action as captain of the NSW Blues for their Bupa Sheffield Shield clash with Queensland at Allan Border Field in Brisbane starting tomorrow.

Haddin will play his final Shield match before the first Test in Brisbane and will be looking to help create a win for a Blues team that narrowly lost its first match against Tasmania, before picking up first innings points against Victoria.

Also back into the side after returning from India is Moises Henriques, while Stephen O’Keefe is recalled to the team after originally being named in Cricket Australia’s Invitational X1 to play England.

Unavailable for selection are Josh Hazlewood (shin soreness) and Doug Bollinger. Bollinger has recovered well from a slight abdominal strain picked up against Victoria, but will miss the match as a precaution, due to the heavy schedule over the next few weeks.

The left-armer is in career form and is currently the joint highest wicket-taker in the competition with 10 wickets at an average of 22.10.

Sutherland ‘rookie’ all-rounder Ben Dwarshuis will travel with the team as 12th man.

The squad is:
Brad Haddin (Captain)
Sean Abbott
Trent Copeland
Ben Dwarshuis
Moises Henriques
Scott Henry
Nathan Lyon
Nic Maddinson
Steve O’Keefe
Steven Smith
Gurinder Sandhu
David Warner
